Background of the Study
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive respiratory condition that leads to complications such as respiratory failure, infections, and comorbidities. Nurses play a vital role in preventing these complications through patient education, symptom monitoring, and adherence to treatment regimens. This study aims to assess the role of nurses in preventing complications among COPD patients in Taraba State healthcare facilities.
Statement of the Problem
COPD patients are at high risk of complications due to the chronic nature of the disease. Nurses are often the primary healthcare providers for these patients, but there may be gaps in their ability to effectively prevent complications due to inadequate training, resources, or protocols. This study will explore the role of nurses in managing and preventing complications in COPD patients in Taraba State.
